Well, it's official: break has gone by much too quickly (though I did get some work done). Here's some pictures I took today:

• Top -- Pass the Pig, a game we played over at the Nevisons' today (right after an amazing dinner -- thanks!). Incredibly strategy-driven game of Dartmouth origins: you roll the pigs and the position they end up in determines your score.
• Middle, Bottom -- Pictures I took on the way back: moonlight bouncing off the lake near Cazenovia. I think we passed the same place in May 2003 with the Jeep (?). Anyway, exposure times were 1.5s and 6.0s for these shots (i.e. it was pretty dark).

Thankgiving time -- campus is completely deserted and I'm ready for 5 days of nothingness. Of course before break started I got to do my econ exam -- such fun. Kaleena had a similar 'when will it end' experience; she got to do a computer science exam this afternoon.

Got pictures department

The top picture is the view from Kaleena's window, taken this morning and photoshopped together this afternoon. I took the other two pictures on our way down the hill. It seems our geese have teamed up with a bunch of ducks. It was a little dark and the birds were moving around too much for a straight shot, but the result seems decent (I especially like the third picture).

So what's up this break

I have a couple of things to do this weekend, including a bunch of coding which I hope to get done. I'm just starting to use a new build system, new testing tools and a new application framework. 'New' here means new to me, of course. Should be interesting.

I also need to clean my room and do my laundry, but what else is new I was forced to do some of the cleaning early; had a little pumpkin incident. The pumpkin Kaleena got me for Halloween caved in on itself. Didn't smell so great, unfortunately.

Well, I should go. Tomorrow is breakfast day at Career Services!

 

Well, it's almost break and I'm getting ready to do some pretty geeky stuff (a ton of coding). In the meantime I should probably pay some attention to my Economics exam tomorrow, but after that I'll definitely be glued behind my computer.

All has been well over here. I spent a lot of time this weekend setting up my computer so I can run some tests during break. I even ordered a book over interlibrary loan, covering some of the software I'll be using...

Not too much going on. Had dinner at the French and Italian House on Sunday -- thank you! Kaleena had a paper due today, so most of her weekend was spent typing and looking for quotes. From what I can tell that worked out well though.

Off I go... macro econ world...

 

Bridget, Kaleena and I went to see Colgate's cricket team today in Sanford Field House (named after Mr. Sanford, of SA4C fame). It was a lot of fun, although the lighting in the Field House is a little frustrating (yellow and dim). Next time I take pictures there I'm going to have to get a little closer and use the flash...

In case anyone is wondering: the first six pictures are in time lapse (0.5s apart). The last picture is a particularly interesting shot from a different series of 6. Considering I took 55 pictures like this, it's a little sad that there's only 7 that are worthwhile... Oh well. Cheers.

 

My room's usually pretty messy, and my standard excuse is that it gets messier as I get busier. So on that note: see how busy I am ? It's actually quite accurate, because I have a couple of things due tomorrow and an economics exam on Tuesday.

Haven't been up to all that much since Sunday. My schedule has been a little... erm... off without Kaleena (she stayed in on Monday and Tuesday). My worst moment (barring any disasters today or tomorrow) was definitely on Tuesday, when I forgot about my Economics class. Once I figured that out (I was definitely having a slow moment), I had only missed about 15 minutes of class, fortunately. This brings my total of missed class time to about 40 minutes this semester -- not bad for my standards

In a more recent goof-up, I forgot to bring my assignment up the hill (this morning actually). Fortunately Kaleena was able to e-mail it to me. So yeah... I think I don't have them all in a little line, as we say in Dutch.
