Bonnes Voyages

Saturday April 23rd, around lunchtime

Cities I've spent significant amounts of time in, starting at Spring Break:

  • Wherever Bridget lives (I'll call it 'New Jersey Suburbs')
  • Newark NJ
  • Amsterdam NL
  • The Hague NL
  • Rotterdam NL
  • Heerjansdam NL
  • Birmingham UK
  • Syracuse NY
  • Oneida NY
  • Cleveland OH
  • Mayfield Village OH
  • Detroit MI
  • Amsterdam NL (again)
  • St. Petersburg RU
  • Paris FR

Not a bad score 8) I don't really have time to go through all of the last two months, so here's the Spark Notes version: Went home together with Kaleena for Spring Break (March 12th - 19th). Stopped by Bridget's house and stayed there before flying to Amsterdam. Had a lot of fun in The Netherlands; Kaleena interviewed Monsieur Krommenhoek @ my old high school and we managed to pick up a Russian visa at the consulate The Hague.

We got back to a much warmer Colgate--the snow was actually melting! Plowed through a lot of schoolwork for a couple of weeks and got invited for an interview at Progressive the day *after* I bought my plane tickets to Russia. Got accepted for a research assistantship this summer with Professor Ohsumi. Traveled to Progressive in Cleveland on April 7th and interviewed there that evening and on Friday morning.

Got dropped off at the airport, changed, and traveled to Amsterdam a few hours ahead of my planned itinerary. Burned those hours by meeting up with AJ for some breakfast at Schiphol Airport (thanks for breakfast/getting up at 7am on a Saturday ;)). Then got back in a plane to St. Petersburg (Pulkovo Airport), where I was met by Oxana. Gave a very broad presentation of my Oak Associates stuff and walked around the city to see the sights. Time flies when you're not in class 8)

My trip back to Colgate was a hazard. Took me 3 hours (mostly walking) to get from one gate to another in Paris De Gaulle (Air France employee literally sent me to the wrong side of the airport). Finally arrived in Detroit with slightly elevated blood pressure. Picked up by Kaleena in Syracuse after approximately 24 hours of travel; was in class 9 hours later. Here are some pictures ;)
