Two classes, two lab sessions, random spare time in between. Not the most extraordinary of Wednesdays, although my meeting this morning (about www.crousecommunity.com was pretty interesting.

Fall has definitely set in here, so I've taken a few pictures of the landscape. Clockwise from the top left:

• The tree I posted earlier here, except without leaves now. It's interesting to see how some of the trees lose their leaves pretty much overnight.

• Taylor lake up close. There's some ducks in there actually, if you know where to find them I took this from just over the side of the lake, with the camera close to the water.

What's going on department

The Colgate Blog I made went online today. Rather than using the IFRAME, they've (apparently) opted to just display the raw page. It looks a little bare like that, but on the other hand it might be a little easier to read without the random Colgate navigational mess surrounding it.

I've been working away so far this week. I spent a lot of time on my upcoming Economics exam last night. After I finished going through my notes for that, I decided to do the extra credit for my Computer Science 304 lab. For that I implemented the CYK algorithm. It's basically a 'smarter' way to see if a string is in a context-free language (smarter than going through all possibilities, on average). That took me about 4 hours to get right... The Colgate International Community Patriots lost yesterday, to the same team we played last week. I wasn't there, unfortunately, because I was in lab. Too bad; either way the intramural season is over now. It'll be a long wait until the next season...
