Lunar Eclipse
Wednesday October 27th, after coffee time
I didn't feel like studying about half an hour ago, so I decided to see if I could get a good shot of today's lunar eclipse. There were a few things I neglected to take into account:
- It was freezing out
- I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
- The grass was cold and dewy, and I was wearing flip flops.
So I was a little cold after running around outside like that for a good half hour. I finally settled on the shot with the trees, since the moon itself was not very photogenic. This photo was taken with 1 minute expore. Getting the angle right was a little hard, since I had to put the camera down on the ground.
Anyway, enjoy...

See? That's why Hooipapa tells you over and over again you have to take good care of yourself! I remember him telling you that yesterday too! And you promised to do so, as ever, haha!
Flip flops, great word! Did you make that up yourself or does it really exist?
At the moment I saw your picture I realised I forgot to get up in time to try to see this eclipse. Pity, but it's not sure we could see it anyway because of the clouds and other stuff in the sky.

just went to Barendrecht with KJ. the whole day the sun was shining but on our way back it was raining cats and dogs. Went to buy KJ a new sweater, ended up with a shirt and trousers. we bought some gifts for father visser. Celebrates his birthday tomorrow. So I am not gonna tell you what we bought because father visser also visits this site :-p
Weekend, haleluja!
love kim sista

I got to see the lunar eclipse here in New Jersey, too... I had to go over to my high school because there are too many tall trees surrounding my house. Just after Earth's shadow completely covered the moon, clouds rolled in and made the moon look like it completely disappeared. Then I became aware of the fact that I was staring at the clouds in the dark, getting cold, and a couple of the school's custodians were outside too, taking their break watching the sky. So then I went home.
Hey Pieter! I must say I am a fan of your photography and of the way your site is set up! Three cheers! Hip hip hooray! (I'm not going to type that out again; you can just read it twice more)
Now if you really want to get crazy, you could have the weather report in both metric AND English! (Just a suggestion from the American!)

Sunday, last day of Oktober. Yesterday we went to father Visser's birthday and when I called you Kaleena told me you were ayway for a ... never mind. Today we are going to have lunch at Jan-Arie's place because his little girl just became 1 year old. This afternoon I will try and study some more Korean. It is a language of which is said 'It is as easy to learn as it is to forget'. Every time Heesoo (here called Hee Soo) teaches me some new expressions I have to ask her over and over again... what was it again. I can imagine that this is a bit anoying for her, but she told me it isn't because it works the same way with her (studying Dutch).
This Tuesday we will be presented another lovely Korean meal. And I must say... I love Korean food! It is much more tasty than the Dutch meals. On the other hand I would not want to miss our typical Dutch meals for the world. So when you're home little brother you'll both get 'rode kool met worst' and 비빔밥 (ask Kaleena what it is!).
I will try and call you this evening. Could you let me know where you will be around 11 o' clock (17.00).
Everyone here is speculating about the upcoming elections in America. The overall word is that Bush is going to win, but most of the people here want Kerry to win. I think it will be a close finish and I am not sure which one of them will be the benificiary. I think Bush will get another go. How about you? Well, we wil know next week, won't we.
Thank God for the extra hour of sleep last night (wintertime) because during the night KJ broke down the bed. That is a weird experience if you are sleeping and the bed crashes. KJ had to think about what happened for a few minutes. Then we had to get out and fix it... of course I had a lot of fun watching a sleepy KJ trying to put the bed back together. So much for our nightly adventures hahaha. He got through it allright, because he is now singing while cleaning the house
Well thats about all for now I think.
