I'm starting to get ready for my last final; pretty exciting stuff. After that I get to clean my room, burn all sorts of stuff on CD-R, vacuum, do my laundry and run various errands that I still need to do. Packing would be a good idea too, of course.

In the can't get enough of that department

Here's some pictures I took on my way up to my Economics exam yesterday. I should probably start finding something else to take pictures of; Taylor Lake (read: Pond) is getting a little old. Unfortunately it's the only 'scenic' place I pass by every day. Maybe I'll stop by the Quarry at some point in January ( = piece of hill with a giant chunk of rock taken out of it to build the East and West dorms back in the day). It's quite cool looking; I think people have bonfires there from time to time.

In the advertising wars department

I took a quick break from studying the other day (together with Kaleena) and decided to put up some table tents. After having designed, printed and folded the things, Kaleena and I put up around 150 in the two major dining halls (Frank and the COOP). We also put up some posters here and there (thanks for the help!).

Bookstore advertising seems a little different this year. On the one hand it looks like they've put up less posters (a lot of their posters were doubled up on top of each other, suggesting whoever did their posting was goofing off). On the other hand it occurs to me their advertising has become a little more aggressive. They literally have a thousand table tents everywhere, including The Barge downtown. The third picture from the top shows Book Exchange and Bookstore table tents next to each other.

I've found several of my existing posters obscured partially by random Bookstore posters. I'm not sure if this is just random this semester or if someone seriously thinks it'll make a difference. Note that the Book Exchange poster in the picture was actually covered up completely by some random other student event, which earned them a free ride to the trash can (congratulations). I think next semester I'll just duplicate the Bookstore poster and replace 'Cash' with 'More Cash' or something...

So yah, tough times for the book exchange.
