In the APPROVED department
Wednesday October 6th, late in the evening
First of all, congratulations to Kaleena who will be going to Korea this winter to research her family history. Her fellowship proposal was accepted today. Makes you wonder what I'm going to do with mine doesn't it? Yeah, me too.
In related news, I got back my COSC 304 exam today. Turns out it wasn't quite as terrible as I thought it would be. Now let's hope my Economics exam wasn't a total loss and all will be good...
By popular demand department
- Top Left - 84 Broad Street, my house this school year and during the past two summers. I like this place, despite its shortcomings. The kid standing there is smoking by the way (the house is non-smoking), in case you were wondering what he's up to...
- Top Right - McGregory Hall, the place I spend most of my time. The video conference room (where my German class is) and the Mathematics department are on the second floor. The third floor is now almost entirely the Computer Science department.
- Middle Left - Hascal, the Philosophy building. It's to your right as you're coming out of McGregory.
- Middle Right - Wynn Hall, with its characteristic 1970s style curtains... It's on the way from McGregory to the COOP, after you pass Hascal. Since I practically live in McGregory and the post office is in the COOP, I make this trip often...
- Bottom Left - Andrews Hall, a firstyear dormitory. It has the dubious repuation of being a 'party dorm.' I appropriately shivered when I took the photo.
- Bottom Right - The O'Conner Campus Center, or COOP for short (don't ask...). It was renovated in the summer of '03 without the mail center closing down, which meant I practically had to wear a helmet to pick up my mail. Definitely added to the hardcore summer-researcher-stuck-on-campus feeling.
Beyond that department
I have plenty of stuff to do now. Aside from a German exam and some other random work, I need to prepare for my meeting at Career Services tomorrow. I may also go to a separate Career Services event, depending on how my schedule works out. Busy times. Stay tuned for more news and better quality photographs...

Congratulations to Kaleena from this side of the world too. Although this obviously means she won't be coming to Europe on short notice. Too bad!
It's great to read what you are up to this way! And I like the pictures! It's like making a "picturesque" walk, haha!

reply to this commentTook the liberty of copying your website to my box, it's still talking to your MySQL tho so content is up to date with yours. As far as I can tell it all works fine, except for the slow (read long-distance) database connection
